The Big Pink brighten up T in the Park
You’ll fall for The Big Pink
The T in the Park 2010 line-up still hasn’t caught the imagination of too many people yet but for those that are going, the latest additions to the bill may make it seem a brighter place to be.
The Big Pink have been announced for the festival in Balado and songs from ‘A Brief History of Love’ will ring out from the main stage. The critical acclaim that has been placed upon the band will see them marked out by many people as a band worth catching at the festival. This is the great thing about a festival, you may not fancy going to see a band play their own gig but having the chance to catch them with other groups is too good to pass up.
Even if you think you haven’t heard of the Big Pink, you will definitely know one of their songs. ‘Dominos’ was almost ever present on the TV screens as an advert, no, not for a pizza chain but for XBOX. Even now, some people are finding it ahrd to get the refrain “these girls fall like dominos” out of their brains.
So, from that alone, you know this act has the ability to create a catchy tune, making them ideal for a festival band.
A quick glance at the updated T in the Park line-up suggests that The Big Pink will be appearing on the Friday night, as the opening act on the Main Stage. This could see the band being the first act that many people see this weekend, giving the band the honour of kick-starting the festivities. Quite an honour!
Are you heading to T in the Park this year, if so, who are you going to see?
