Pavement, Primavera and getting rather excited!
May cannot come quickly enough!
One thing that Cold Blooded Clarity encourages all of our readers to do is to get the hell out of your home town or country!
Not necessarily because there is anything wrong with it (although we can supply a list of towns that are wrong) but because you should always try something a little bit different.
Nearer the time, we will be devoting focus and attention to Rockness and T in the Park whilst hoping that the return of Indian Summer turns out to be more than internet rumour. However, we are all booked up for Primavera in Barcelona at the end of May and we are rather excited about it!
So excited that we are going to start talking about bands and the festival now.
With so many great bands and with less than three months to go, knowing where to start can be tricky…so we’ve went with the easy option.
Pavement
The Pavement tour is lining up as the reunion show of the summer making them one of the major acts to see at this year’s Primavera festival.
The band will have already hit the UK in May but tickets for these shows are long gone so if you are intent on seeing the boys, jetting off and catching them around Europe may be the best way to go about it.
The buzz for the reunion has not been a surprise but it is fair to say that Pavement don’t quite have the same commercial appeal as the Pixies had when they returned to the live arena. Any band which takes so much from the Fall isn’t going to be at the top of the hit parade but they still make us swoon.
The initial set-lists have been running like this but whether they will be altered by the time of the summer, who can say? We like the look of this but there is always going to be some argument about what set-list the band should play.
The line-up at Primavera sells itself. It has a very particular style running through the three days so even if someone may not be so much of a fan to get a gig for the Pavement tour, they would be inclined to check them out at a festival.
Where they will play all the hits!
With a back catalogue of five albums, the band have more than enough top material to fill the headline set, so we’ve dropped in some of our favourite Pavement songs in the hope they will materialise in May.
Are you going to see Pavement at some point this summer?
