Noel Gallagher and Johnny Cash: Walk The Line
If there’s blood on the tracks, it must be mine!
Neither Noel Gallagher nor Johnny Cash actually shot a man in Reno, although if Noel had a gun and he was on tour with his brother, he may well have done. There are some similarities between Noel and the Man in Black though and the latest may see the Mancunian guitarist in bother with the cops.
Well, not the real cops, the British Transport Police.
The Shed Seven to the actual police’s Oasis, if you like to make that sort of comparison. The Sun, whilst taking a break from trailing John Terry or wondering where Katie Price will appear next, ran a picture of Gallagher cutting across a railway track to get to his studio from his hotel.
Oasis fans will be more interested in the fact that Noel is in the studio but others will have picked up on the whole crossing the railway line aspect. Inspector Kevin Marshall, of the BTP, had this to say;
“I have been contacted by National Rail and they want me to investigate. I will need to speak to Mr Gallagher because the danger is children may copy what he’s doing.”
Sadly, he did not add in any puns about how Mr Gallagher may well look back in anger if he continues this sort of behaviour but Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is more than capable of giving the Oasis back catalogue a plug.
That said, the fact that certain people will view Gallagher as a role model means there will be many folk up in arms at the guitarists short-cut…and we should add, you should never cut across railway lines.
After all, and no we’re not quoting ‘Wonderwall’, as Noel wrote on ‘D’Yer Know What I Mean’, “there’s blood on the tracks and it must be mine”, so the song-writer should be well aware of the dangers that may arise from this sort of behaviour.
Stay safe kids!
