Glasgow Charity Gig Announcement

1 in 3 people.

That’s you or one of the people sat either side of you.

1 in 3 Scottish people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime.

The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre sees more than 8,000 new patients each year and is regarded as the leading centre for delivery of non-surgical cancer care for the West of Scotland.

The father of two of the Cold Blooded Clarity team is currently undergoing intensive treatment at The Beatson. The Cold Blooded Clarity team recognises the tremendous work that the Centre undertakes and is keen to offer its support to continue the progress that is being made in the battle against cancer.

This has led to the first Cold Blooded Charity night.

On Thursday the 10th of June in The Admiral Bar in Glasgow, two great Scottish bands and the Cold Blooded Playlist dj’s will ensure you have a great night in support of a very worthy cause.

The State Broadcasters and Deserters Deserve Death are well known acts in the Glasgow and Edinburgh scenes and bringing them together for the first time sees a clash between sweet melodic Americana-tinged folk and feedback drenched 60s influenced fuzz.

The bands are musically very different but both bring a love of pop sensibilities which will tie it all together nicely. That and two nicer sets of people you couldn’t wish to meet.

We are still waiting on confirmation of the licence time, so we may be looking to include a third band on the bill. Watch this space…as they say.

A free e-programme is being created for the evening which will contain further information about the cause, the venue, the bands and the sponsors. This e-programme will be given to attendees on the night and will be made available for download on this website.

Tickets for the event cost £5 and can be purchased online at: The Just Giving – CBC Gig page or by contacting the Cold Blooded Clarity team by the contact methods below.

In addition to the gig, you can take part by participating in The Great Rock N Roll Raffle! Raffle tickets can be bought online here: The Just Giving – CBC Raffle page

A whole host of music related prizes are up for grabs but don’t despair if music isn’t entirely your thing, there are plenty of other gifts to make it worth your while entering. Raffle prizes include:

A copy of the limited edition Blur 7” single ‘Fools Day’. This track has been selling for up to £200 on ebay.

A copy of the limited edition Mogwai / F*ck Buttons split single.

Many more Record Store Day exclusive purchases.

Your choice of t-shirt from the WeKnowSFA and ColdBloodedClarity t-shirt shops.

More prizes are being added regularly in the build-up to the event; please see the charity page for full and updated information.
